Jim Hobby wrote of Gary Gray's excellent recording of the Poulenc Sonata.

Gary Gray is one of those great musicians you've never heard of. I think
he's one of the finest clarinetists around. He's also a top jazz player,
which gives him a deep understanding of harmony, which to me is very obvious
in his classical playing. Each phrase "fits" perfectly.

His CD is Centaur 2165, which, in addition to the Poulenc Sonata, also has
the Saint-Saens Sonata, the Martinu Sonatina, the Debussy Premiere Rapsodie,
the Malcolm Arnold Sonatina and the Bernstein Sonata. An essential record.

Best regards.

Ken Shaw
