The second young clarinettist competition of the Japan Clarinet
Society (JCS).
Call for applicants

Date and place
Semifinal Category A Judged by tape, not open for public
Semifinal Category B and C
Aug. 22,23 and 24, 2001
Tokyo College of Music Bldg. J Studio, open for public
(3-4-5 Minami-Ikebukuro, Toshimaku, Tokyo)
Final for all category
Aug. 25, Tokyo College of Music Bldg. J Studio, open for
public
(3-4-5 Minami-Ikebukuro, Toshimaku, Tokyo)

Applicants requirement

Category A (Junior)
Age under 13 years old on April 1st, 2001
Category B (Junior)
Age under 18 years old on April 1st, 2001
Category C (Young artist)
Age under 20 years old on April 1st, 2001

Any nationality can apply. Juniors under 13 years old can apply for
Category B or C. Juniors under 18 years old can apply for
Category C.

All applicants may be subjected to be interrupted play by judge.
All applicants may be asked to play a part of the pieces.

Judgment
Semifinal of Category A is judged by recorded tape (analogue casette, MD or
DAT). The tape is not returnable.
Semifinal of Category B and C is open for public.
Organization will dicide the order of applicants.
All the cost for enrolling the competition must be paid by applicants.
Finals of all three category is open for public and play the compulsory
pieces with piano accompany.

Entry fee
The fee must be paid with application except for finalist of Category A.
Category A
Semifinal 3000JPY
Final 7000JPY. It should be paid after semifinal decision.
Category B
15000JPY (7000JPY for JCS member)
Category C
20000JPY (12000JPY for JCS member)

Application;
Category A:
Application form, recorded tapes and bank check must be sent to JCS.
Semifinal is held by 20, July and the results will be sent to the
applicant by regular mail. Application for final is sent only to finalist
and it should be sent back to JCS with bank check by 4, Aug, 2001.
Category B and C:
Application form and bank check must be sent to JCS.
Entry fee is not refundable at any condition.

Application is open on 14, May.
Dead line; 30, June.

No limitation of applicants in Category A.
For category B and C, the number of applicants is limited to 160
in total.

Application form is distributed from JCS.
