The college band is playing the Baines (Barnes?) arrangement of "The
Impresario Overture."
The question came up--how to play the figure in m.3,5,9, etc in clarinet
parts.
It is notated two 32nds & dotted eighth. I have been playing it
appogatura fashion, and that sounds like two 16th and 8th.
Is the 32nd note how Mozart wrote the melody, or is that the arranger's
1950's adaptation?

I am not familiar with the piece, have not found a recording in library,
and don't have schedule to drive 40 miles to closest library with Koechel
catalog.
