Subject: [kl] Interpretation.

I had the overwhelming fortune of sitting during one of my breaks at the
All Virginia event to hear Tom Wilkins, the director of the Detroit
Symphony Orchestra if I'm not mistaken. (Forgive me on my
misconsistances on what he actually said but this is the gist of it)
"Music is so intellectually above us all, no matter what chair nor how
good you are, the music before you out weighs anything you can
comprehend and muster in your minds, music allows you to know the what
and the who about the music but never can you figure upon the "why" of a
composition, one will never be able to know why.. never be able to
communicate to the level of the composure..wish for the meaning of the
music or just why is feels this way to you.. why it touches you to cry
or be angry..... which makes this music before you beyond your grasp in
thought." What a statement! What do you think?.. True..?? Good??
