The side Bb is the best one for me. On my clarinet, the best "regular"
fingering has the third finger of each hand down plus the f/c key.
Substututing the first finger of the right hand for the third also works well
on my instrument. I have heard that the best thing to do is to experiment
with different combinations of fingers and find out which one is best suited
to your particular clarinet. Different mouthpiece, barrel, and instrument
combinations may cause one fingering to be better than another for that
particular combination. I know some players who use different combinations
than the ones listed above, but the came up with them by experimenting
listening for quality of tone and checking for the best tuning.
