Really? For me? I wonder why, as I have not yet participated in the
discussion of the various fingerings for throat Bb. But naturally, I'll be
glad to add my few cents worth.

For me, it depends entirely on the context. I do rather enjoy the quality
of the side-key Bb in comparison to the "regular" one, meaning A key plus
register key.

I also was taught a couple of variations. One is as has been mentioned in
this discussion, which involves adding the third fingers of both hands plus
the F/C key. Another version, this one from Bernie Portnoy, requires
closing the l.h. 3 and *everything* on the right hand - all three fingers
plus the E/B key. That often works for me in passages involving Bb in
alternation with two clarion-register notes.
