Thanks, Dan. I have enjoyed your discussions about Mozart immensely. I
don't always understand them, but I am just amazed by your knowledge of
the volume of musical material written for clarinet. I have never heard
of many of the chamber works that have been discussed and would love to
perform them someday. Back when I went to Oberlin, 1964-1969, we NEVER
discussed the use of various clarinets, including basset horns, or the
repertiore of Mozart that used clarinets. I think I played the Mozart
Serenade once and never really thought about it after that. We studied
music history out of Grout's "A History of Western Music" and I usually
fell asleep in class. Dan, are you a music teacher at some college? When
you recover from your back surgery, I wish you would come to Colorado
Springs, perhaps Colorado College, for an extended Mozart party and
ongoing concert. ANNIE
