I believe I started talking up the virtues of Dave's pads several years ago
when he first started the project. I know Dave very well and he used me as a
"test patient" as he was developing the pad. I made several suggestions and
used his pads in all of my overhauls in the last 3 years that I was
repairing.

Straubinger pads are excellent and once installed properly rarely shift. I
don't believe that one has to be trained in clarinet pad installation from
Straubinger to purchase the clarinet pads.
