A shorter barrel will raise the pitch of short tube length notes the most
and the long "bell tone" of B natural the very least. I don't believe this
would help. Quite to the contrary, it would create a worse tuning problem.

I'm sorry, I don't have an answer. I'm sure someone on this NG will suggest
something that will help. Please keep us posted, particularly if you solve
the problem.
