I mentioned the Kell vibrato/rubato discussion. Try his recording of
the Brahms quintet for multiple examples of his rubato, which I found
much more stimulating and remarkable than any vibrato which he used.
Frankly, I always thought that his use of vibrato was not only
exaggerated but an ass-backwards criticism.
