Roger, I only included your name because you were part of the recent
discussion. I don't care who advertizes. I mentioned Tony's name because
I have to spend a lot of time erasing his posts. Richard Stoltzman
sounds a lot better in person than he did in the pick-up truck on the
cassett player back in the early 90's when I was gigging 6 nites a
week..I probably shouldn't have even mentioned my particular reaction at
that time. If you would have told me back then that it was a
grammy-award-winning performance, I wouldn't have believed you. I would
have said that I probably had a boot-legged copy of somebody else. I
was just pointing out that it is easy to cop an attitude, and harder for
some of us to feel happy for others. I mentioned Benjamen's name because
he is such an "expert" on my idol, Jon Manasse. We all have the right to
our personal preferences in clarinet playing. I have not given an
opinion on Jonathan Colher & I didn't say a word after his announcement.
But I had my own personal thoughts.
I don't think you're jealous at all, Roger. You have always been
very kind and helpful to me. But I know for a fact that I have been
"envious" of others, (downright annoyed by some too) but I hope I'm
getting over it. Some of us have to work harder at it than others.
