Since I wouldn't dare to leap into the head (and intent) of another, without
the benefit of looking directly into their eyes, I won't go so far as to claim
the above reply as disingenuous...however...

This is an international list, is it not? And this most impressive sounding
program (for those of you who might be impressed, that is!) is very local. It
seems to me that for one to bring out the greatest numbers of audience members
is to, of course, advertise locally, etc. (but please invite the critics!).
While I couldn't say for sure, I highly doubt that many of our list members
residing in California, Spain, Germany or even New York will venture out to
witness this extravaganza. Perhaps this is why announcements were sent to
newspapers (certainly not my local newspapers, being so far away) and on
postcards (gee...also not sent to me...wonder why?).

This was nothing more than an advertisement to the list to sell recordings,
under the guise of an otherwise legitimate concert announcement. If this
concert was to be broadcast live for all to hear there would have been
justification for the announcement. But let's get real here...if you want to
let people know what you're doing, fine. If you want to tell us how great you
are, also fine. If you simply want to sell recordings (and since this
announcement came from the so-called recording company), please have the
courtesy and respect for your less talented and famous colleagues to say so.
Many here might very well be interested in purchasing such recordings. Send
them a catalogue then and keep the clutter away from the list.

Finally, it would be interesting--and perhaps, telling--if you could be a bit
more forthright to the list members. You say "I did instruct my record
company, Ongaku Records, to post the announcement to the list." C'mon, now--I
do believe that this "recording company" is headquartered at your home
address, is it not?

So...who's instructing whom?
