Where do you live? Are there any qualified teachers in your area? If so,
what has been the reason you haven't been able to get private lessons yet?
Is it a money problem? (I can relate to that, as I used to be in a similar
situation.)

Tell us more, and we might be able to come up with some suggestions.
However, as you can tell already, what everyone is going to tell you is,
"Get a good teacher." There's really no substitute for it. This will be
especially true if you are serious about majoring in music in college.
