Chris,

I too was a self-taught clarinetist at your age, and learned to read music
on my own as well. Trouble was, I could play lots of difficult music but I
picked up some odd habits along the way. These were holding me back. When
I got a good teacher I quickly learned how to move ahead faster in many
ways. If money is the problem, maybe you can trade some sort of work for
lessons, but you absolutely need lessons right now before any bad habits
become even harder to shake.
