There have been several mentions of the Cincinnati Pops recently which
brings up a slightly off-topic question. A friend told me of a
marvelous children's book (even though I don't have kids) called "The
Remarkable Farkle McBride." I bought it, and in looking at the
illustrations of the orchestra members, wondered if they could represent
actual members of the Cincinnati Symphony. There is a thank-you from
the illustrator to the conductor and orchestra, so I suspect that there
is some connection. I went to the Symphony's web site, but there were no
photos of the orchestra that I could find. So if anyone lives in the
Cincinnati area and has seen or bought the book, please let me know.

By the way, the book would be a great gift for a young son or daughter
of a musician friend! The illustrations are wonderful!!! (I have no
connections to anyone associated with the book :-) )
