I would like to add my two cents as a card-carrying member of NRA. I
wholeheartedly agree with Rein in the respect that weapons and public
places do not mix. Especially schools. Anger frustration and revenge
does not work at all against violence even if you feel it is self
defence. The point is calm and thoughtful in outsmarting your
opponents using tactics to avoid and have them circumvented by proper
authorities without detection. Being a bigger person and walking
away and outsmarting them and keeping the fact that you win private
and to your self will build your character and your clarinet chops
ta'boot. And egads put away that blade before you cut your finger:) I
believe if freedom of expression and the right to bare arms
responsibly and wisely. Your wisdom and cunning and goodness of heart
is your best weapon and it should preclude and future decision if you
decide to use a knife for carving fine art, delicate surgery,
culinary skills, or hunting camping or the sport of target throwing.
I believe in the right to own arms but there is an awful lot of
experience and responsibility and reason which should preclude that
right being exercised. Guns and knives should never be possessed by
violent people or even people who are the victims of avoidable
violence. Your best weapon is your brain. Obviously you have those
people outgunned in the brains dept. Focus your fears and frustration
into relaxation exercises for your wind control and finger execution.
Practice in the mirror and elevate yourself into a higher lever of
playing. Gather strength from your determination in other areas like
in clarinet. That same power coupled with prowess to avoid violence
will let your confidence protect you.
