Saw Ettlinger play in London once in the 70's. It wasn't a pretty sight. He was
incredibly cramped. Good clarinetist tho'. Had some good pupils at the time. I
played basset horn with them in the Grand Partitta with Ettlinger conducting.
Don't know how I got into that as I was having lessons with Keith Puddy at
Trinity College of Music at the time. Ettlinger was teaching at Guildhall
School of Music. I believe Tony Pay took over his job.
