Didn't the theme from the film score for Schindler's List feature the
clarinet? I don't know the composer, I haven't the sound track and I don't
know if it is available as a soundtrack or if print music is available. All
I remember is sitting in the theatre with wet eyes thinking the clarinet
part was particularly poignant. Maybe someone else would know more. My
first reaction to your request was the QFTEOT, but it and Messiaen are,
well, very Catholic - the piece's title is, as you know, from text from the
Revelation to St John. The piece, and to a great degree, the story behind
it, however do seem (for me) to transcend human religion, and surely this is
an appropriate work for such an occasion (more so than film scores?).

Thanks, Kevin, for this wonderful suggestion. Mark Charette came up with
it,
too. I just played the Quartet last spring, so this might be just the
thing.
I'll ask them what they think. The review is wonderful, too! Thank you so
much!
Any other ideas, anybody?
