David, Louis Cheslock was a theory professor at the Peabody Conservatory in
Baltimore in the sixties (at least). I know he taught harmony (among other
courses). I think he was sixty or seventy years old at that time. Some of
his students remember him as a very fussy teacher who was death on parallel
fifths or wrongly placed note stems. He was also known as a very kind man
who would do a lot to help his students. He published a symphony which was
premiered by the Baltimore Symphony, (1970s ?? or 1980s??). Sorry I can't
give you more complete or precise information. Frank
