<><> It seems to collapse after 10 minutes or so, then recovers
after 10 minutes.

You're not alone, Stewart. I've gained strength during the last
couple of years, but I run out of strength during a 60-minute lesson
frequently. The teacher and I talk about music theory and other stuff
while I rest.
I don't know about you, of course, but with kids in my house, I
can't devote 3-4 hours of each day to practice and study. Sometimes
<gasp!> I even go 24 hours without practicing at all. Therefore it's
unreasonable to think that I can keep up with full-time students and
performers.

Another example: I attended a recital a few months ago in which
the soloist was a clarinet professor. The professor played two pieces
(admittedly strenuous pieces) that added up to 45 minutes. My own ear
was not sufficiently attuned to hear the leakage, but my teacher was in
the audience and she told me that she heard significant air leakage
during the final 15 minutes.

Cheers,
Bill
