West Coast Clarinet Congress 2001
California State University
Fresno, California, USA
July 26-29, 2001

The West Coast Clarinet Congress 2001 is on the campus of California State
University, Fresno on July 26-29, 2001. Come enjoy, relax, learn, &
listen at the West Coast Clarinet Congress, then visit and vacation at
Yosemite National Park (or Kings Canyon National Park or Sierra National
Park; all within 1 hour from the Fresno State
campus).

The headline artist performing includes Michele Zukofsky, Principal Clarinet
Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra; and Christopher Sereque, Principal
Clarinet Seattle Symphony Orchestra; in addition to David Etheridge,
University of Oklahoma; Gary Gray University of California Los Angeles;
James Gillespie, University of North Texas; Marcus Eley, soloist; professor
from the California State University campuses and others. Tom Ridenour,
Clarinet designer, performer & author-clarinet specialist for Brooks May
Corp. will be presenting an informative session on clarinet design. In
addition to recitals by top name artists, master classes,
lecture-demonstrations, and clarinet choir performances, we will have a
music educator's day, and a High School Competition. The competition is open
to all clarinetists who have not reached their nineteenth birthday by May
31, 2001. Competitions should send a cassette tape of all three movements of
the Weber Concerto No. 1 (Carl Fisher Edition) with accompaniment to:

WCCC 2001
High School Competition
Dr. Alison P. Deadman
Coordinator East Tennessee State University Department of Music
Box 70661
Johnson City, TN 378614-0661

We will be raffling a 2001 Red Pontiac Sunfire (fully loaded with air, CD,
power and other amenities); limited tickets (under 400) will be sold for $75
a ticket (better odds than with the California Lottery which are 1 in 100
million; and still better than purchasing 75 California Lottery tickets with
those odds). It will be a fun and enjoyable event to attend.

We look forward to hearing from you. For more information contact:
