I know that Hanson piece more than I'd like to! We recorded that my
sophomore year, and I played the solos. Now that I think of it, that one
section does sort of sound like Batman (hmmm..a Batman theme and
variations-have your friend write something like that!)

And good luck on your po'ness. I's hopes you raiz da money yous needin'.

Subject: [kl] Performance Announcement!

This upcoming Tuesday (the 20th of March?) will be yet another benefit
concert for NMSU Symphonic Winds (we is going to Washington DC and we is
po'...give us money please). It will be at the NMSU Music Center Recital
Hall at 8pm. Tickets are five a pop for normal folks and three a pop for
the kiddies. Our program includes:

Awayaday - Adam Gorb (dude, this chart rules!)
Laude - Howard Hanson (it sounds like Batman)
Masquerade - Vince "I think I'm all that because I have this bizarre idea
that I came up with the harmonic series, not Pythagoras" Persechetti

(It's kind of obvious how I feel about his stuff, huh?)

The Thunderer - Jeanne Phillipe Sousa
Symphony for Band, Mvt II: After the Thunderer - Ira Hearshen
Symphony No 1. for Band: Mvts I, II, III - Josh Coleman

...if you haven't heard of that last, don't think too hard. Some of you
who have been on Klarinet for a few years might think the name is a
bit familiar...he occasionally posts...oh, twice a year. And
furthermore, he is my ROOMMATE and old high school bud, and a theory/comp
student here at NMSU (but this symphony was a personal project, not an
assignment). If you want the piece, you can email him at
joshcole@-----. Remember, he and I have rent to pay, so don't be
surprised if he sells it at a steep price! *laughs*
