Hmmm.

Have you tried suggesting you guys get together to play duets? Perhaps
initiating a friendship will ease the uneasiness between you, as it did
for some of the other respondents to your inquiry.

I wouldn't ask your teacher not to take her on as a student because I
don't think it would help either of you deal with the situation. It
certainly couldn't hurt to speak to the director.
