There's nothing wrong with good stiff competition. It might be for the band's
best interest if she as well as you are studying privately with your teacher.

On the other hand, talking across the room about you and pointing out any
mistakes you make is simply BAD MANNERS. Rather than venting to us on this news
group, you need to be talking to the band director. I'm sure your private
teacher would agree.
