<<<I have some music that I have for Bb clarinet, that I would like to play
on my Eb sop. clarinet. I have been trying all day to get the right
transposition, with no luck. Could someone point me in the right
direction?>>>

You need to play everything a Perfect 4th lower, except that when it then
goes below the range of the Eb, which it undoubtedly will, you can play a
Perfect 5th higher. You will also need to add one sharp or subtract one
flat from the key signature.

Example: Let's say the piece is in the concert key of F major, one flat.
The Bb clarinet part will be in G major, one sharp, but the Eb would need to
be in D major, 2 sharps. Or, if the concert key is Eb major, 3 flats, the
Bb part would be in F major, one flat, which the Eb would be in C major.

For the note transposition, if the written note for Bb is middle C, you
would play low G on the Eb. For open G on the Bb, play D above middle C on
the Eb. For F on the 5th line for Bb, play 3rd-space C.
