A couple of additional thoughts about these barrels, which are
capable of getting nice sounds:

1. The clarinet will generally come up to pitch quicker when cold,
as the aluminum barrel heats more quickly than a wooden one.
Conversely, it will cool more quickly when you're not playing it.
Temperature/pitch stability will vary more than with a wooden
barrel.

2. You will most likely suffer far more condensation down the
bore in the upper key section (and into the tone holes) as this
aluminum barrel seems to take more of the moisture out of the
breath. At least this was my experience in orchestral
playing...and it was even noticed by my first bassoon colleague
sitting next to me!
