I bought one some years ago because I needed a shorter barrel to raise my
pitch a bit. Now that I am using a different mouthpiece, I find I no
longer need it. It seems to me that my tone was a shade "brighter" (Sorry,
Dan) with it. Otherwise it was just fine. It was also nice that it came
with a set of tuning rings. I have the standard "finned" model.
