Joe:

I wouldn't give up on a close faced mouthpiece so easily. In the future I
would try several as many as five or six at a sitting. Most mail order and
woodwind specialty suppliers will let you try several on approval. I own
two M-13's and an M-13 lyre. The two M-13's are as different as night and
day. The last M-13 I purchased came after trying over a dozen M-13's and
M-14's. The M-13 lyre came much the same way. I like them both but use the
M-13 lyre for orchestra.

Try some other mouthpieces before you buy.

Regards and happy hunting,

Mark
