When one considers how many competent doctors may actually hit or
miss... usually miss. I also suffered greatly and the is NO person
who I know who was totally helped if at all. I think that there would
be variations which exist which are more task descriptive that may be
categorically attributed to different instrument groups and even in
the case of specific instruments, as in the case of single reeds,
combinations and other non-music-related repetitive use, such as
typing, tennis, etc.

This sort of puts the carpal tunnel and tendonitis listsev in the
dark as to the specific trials and errors which are
wind/clarinet-related. The musical mind is a determined and inventive
one and baring Dr. Fati J.Bejani a Sports Medicine specialist who
pioneered an analytic neural mechanical and motion detection
research, I would say that many doctors (even competent ones) are
probably going to stay hit or miss unless they combine forces with
others in the know--including those who are effected by specific task
related syndromes. Therefore if a Dr was truly competent he/she would
consult people in that field or should be willing to more than look
at the experiences of others.
