Would you mind enlightening me as to what the acronyms UTC and EST mean?

UTC is the correct defvinition, not GMT, and has been for some time - see
ISO 8601. EST is historical and is well-known throughout the world.
I _do_ realize this is an international list, thus the use of commonly used
times zones. Use of the word GMT would be as incorrect or non-worldly as
using EST. The correct indication would be to append a Z to the time if I
used UTC.
I could have (correctly) specified the time as:
0800-0500 to 1200-0500 and confused many or
you might want to check http://www.timeanddate.com/time/abbreviations.html
which define commonly used abbreviations or
I could be rude and just take things down without notification. But I
wouldn't.
Enough wasting bandwidth. Next time you want to complain about me notifying
the list about maintenance please contact me personally.
