This can't possibly be right, can it? I'd think the right long-term solution
would be simply to re-cork the joint, and this is a wretched short-term
solution, on account of the difficulty of removal and the probable nasty
effects of acrylic solvents on the wood. Bind the cork with a layer of waxed
dental floss, instead.
