For the last few months, there were always two or three clarinet
jobs listed in International Musician for U.S. orchestras, including
Kansas City Phil. I still wonder who won the S.F Opera job. March's
edition of the union rag doesn't appear to show any clarinet openings,
except for the military bands, of course. I wonder how many months
(years?) will go by before another clarinet job is listed again. I
also notice the absence of the Met Opera 2nd clarinet opening. Why
is that? Surely the Met is a union shop (?).
