<<<You guys are really encouraging me. I'm 36 and getting that mid-life
crisis. I'm starting to wonder what retirement is like. I guess I have
it all wrong!!>>>

During my time at the University of Evansville, we have had several students
to enter college to study music when in their 40's. We also had a freshman
harp major, age 70, and a freshman violin major, age 78. The harp major was
a widow, who earned much of her tuition money by working as a housekeeper,
while the violinist had recently retired from a career as a physician. In
every instance, these adults had decided to go back to school to do what
they had really wanted to do all along. Think how much more rewarding their
lives might have been if they had followed their heart from the beginning.

In my own case, I knew from the age of seven that I wanted a career in
music. That was 56 years ago, and I have never wavered in that resolve. It
isn't the life for everyone, but for me, it has been the most rewarding
course of action I could have followed.
