David Baker - Sonata for Clarinet (pub. MMB) difficult, and jazz-inspired
There's also a Concerto or Suite for Clarinet & Orchestra,
also from MMB - don't have the exact title at hand because I've loaned
out my CD
Also, a Duo for Clarinet and Cello (pub. MMB)

Adolphus Hailstork - has written a Sonata for Clarinet. Hailstork is the
Composer in Residence at Old Dominion University (here in Virginia, USA)
I like the pieces of his that I know, but have not played this sonata.

Samuel Coleridge-Taylor wrote a wonderful Quintet for clarinet and
strings in F# minor. He wrote it at an early age, as a student of
Stanford, who is alleged to have told his student "here in the Brahms
Quintet. Write a Quintet of your own, but don't make it too much like
Brahms." So instead it is more like Dvorak. SCT was not an American,
strictly speaking. His mother was English, and his father was a doctor
from Sierra Leone. But he did a large amount of conducting of Black
choral societies on this side of the Atlantic in his time (late 19th -
early 20th centuries)
