The "Bist Du Bei Mir" manuscript includes "Da Capo Segno al Segno
<fermata symbol>"
Today my teacher played the piano part both ways for me, and it
became obvious that "Capo" doesn't belong in the instruction. "D.S. al
Fine" works properly; and swince there is a fermata above the Fine, the
confusion is explained.
It was an interesting first experience with reading "alleged"
original manuscripts. I say "alleged" because I have no way of knowing
at which step of the chain between Magdalena Bach's notebook and my
music stand the error occurred.
