The seller told me they were from an estate in Connecticut; there are reeds
from no later than the 40s or 50s in sleeves marked "C.G. Conn Hartford,
Conn. Tel. 5-1614". The instruments are fitted with bells marked "(Buffet
Crampon standard mark)/ C. Fischer / New York / Made In France"; the bells
match the grain and mark and color of the bodies, so I suspect they are the
ones the instruments were originally sold with.

So I would suspect these were originally sold to an American professional,
based on the New York marking on the bells.
