For those of you that live in the SF Bay Area, the Walnut Creek Concert
Band will be giving a spring concert on Monday, April 9th at the
Regional Center for the Arts. The band will be be performing the World
Premiere of the new composition by Keith Gates, as commissioned by the
Diablo Regional Arts Association. The composer will be present at a
reception following the concert.

If any of you have enjoyed playing Icarus and Daedalus ("Icky and
Deadly" to the woodwinds-that was what I needed a better fingering for
the Bb-C# tremolo for) by this same composer, you will enjoy his new
Concert Overture.

We will also be playing Icarus and Daedalus, as well as pieces by Holst,
Bach, Dello Joio, Sousa and others.
