I've talked to you about this before.

You can't understand how it's not a conflict of goals until you
understand how it's possible to play a piece of music several times,
obeying everything that's written, *and* for it to be different every
time.

And until you understand that, you can't understand how it's possible,
beyond that, to put further constraints on your performance, derived
from knowledge of how performers interpreted the text at the time, and
*still* produce performances that are different every time.

So, you don't understand the difference between a mimic and a musician.

But, that's not surprising. How would you?
