.....even in modern ballroom competition, the Landler requires the
gentleman to lift the lady up into the air from her waist and also
requires the gentleman to go down on his knee while the lady jumps over
hs arm.
The emphasis in this discussion (as I read it) has been on slowing
things down, but the Landler seems to have been athletic and animated.
