I don't remember who my insurance carriers were in the earlier days but the homeowners
insurance covered my instruments if they were stolen from my house or from my car, but
if they were stolen or damaged on the job - sorry charlie - the company wants you to pay
for an extra policy rider if you use the instruments professionally. You could check to
see if you could get some insurance from the company that insures your auto and you can
usually get the names of insurance companies from your local musicians union office that
sell stand-alone musical instrument policies for professional musicians.
