Roger,

Open letter...for both klarinet and bass-clarinet lists.

I thought the mouthpiece (Buffet. with "J. M." and "EPE" engraved beside
bottom of the reed table) was ok.

Then i put on Roger's mouthpiece (designated MO). What a difference!

Immediately more responsive and consistent tone quality throughout range
of instrument.
I played the two hour rehearsal and 1 hour gig, (using bass
Clar to substitute for the bassoon in ww trio) with no problem
of endurance.
The tonal variety is especially satisfying.

Then in wind ensemble, played the GOOD mouthpiece
on Giovaninni Overture in Bb. Almost too much fun to be legal.

Still trying reeds and ligatures, the reeds that worked on
Selmer C * and Buffet sound thin.

This mouthpiece improves the response so that i can
notice adjustment problems with the instrument.

Big improvement for moderate price.
Thanks!

Ann
