Laura asked:

<<<I was wondering does An Original Suite (For Military Band) have an E flat
soprano clarinet part?>>>

Yes indeed -- and a *very* prominent one, too. I've heard it performed at
band festivals without one. This is not optimal, as there are gaping holes
where the melody should be.

I fail to understand how a high school band director will spend an entire
year's instrument budget for an alto clarinet, but not buy an Eb. So much
of the traditional canon of band music really requires an Eb; much of the
melody/lead voicing is written for it. Heck, it's a divisi part in the
first Holst suite.

<<<And if it does, where could I order it from (just the E flat part). Does
anyone know where I could buy orchestra scores? I'm particuarly interested
in finding Gliere's Second Symphony.>>>

Try http://www.sheetmusicservice.com. You'll probably have to call them up
-- the online service isn't so helpful for this stuff. They are very nice
folks who do a good job.
