I just noticed the subject line of this, and although I have no idea what the
current thread is, it reminded me of a recent performance event.

One Sunday afternoon my quintet was playing a bookstore job. We usually set
up an area with audience chairs up close, so we can chat with audience
members and they can ask us questions in an informal presentation.
(Sometimes too informal - we wanted to name our demo CD "Quintet with
Cappuccino Machine" and add the appropriate hissing noise).

Anyway, partway through the program a couple of gentlemen plopped themselves
right in the front and in between pieces started to heckle us a little. They
introduced themselves by saying, "Hello, we're the rhythm and intonation
police..." So we knew they were family and their ribbing was all in fun.
They stayed for a few pieces and then went on their merry way. After they
left, our flute player finally recognized who they were - James Galway and
one of the Irish tenors. They were in town for a concert that night and had
decided to browse the CD section of our little bookstore.
