I just had to do a cuckoo in Crazy for You, when the saloon owner shoots the
cuckoo clock (on stage) with a pistol supposedly loaded with blanks. The
drummer didn't have an appropriate sound effect.

When you think about it, what other standard orchestra instrument comes
closer to the right sound?
