There's an Eb and bass, both of which are part of the 'orchestra'.
That's not to say that the parts are unimportant, or indeed, easy.

The main parts, however, are both in Bb, and constitute a sort of solo
'duo'.

Playing these parts accurately, audibly, coherently and together, is
central to the piece.
