As long as we're on the subject, I might as well mention that a book I
recently bought (The Clarinet and Clarinet Playing by David Pino) gives
fingerings for notes all the way up to the D#/Eb above that C. I haven't
tried them, and I doubt how stable they are as useful fingerings, but if
anyone figures out how to hit the E, then we can all start practicing four
octaves of it :) But I also have a question with these notes. I've been
trying to consistently hit the B and C, but I find that the only way I can
get them to come out is if I move my lip and actually bite on my reed. I
don't like doing this much as I doubt it's healthy for the reed. Does
anyone have any suggestions for hitting these notes with a normal
embouchure? I'm figuring that I just need to practice it a little
more... thanks,
