IN addition to the harmonic reasons someone else listed, sometimes usung a
double sharp or double flat will give you less accidentals in a measure to
deal with. Of course sometimes the double sharps and double flats make it
appear more confusing. If you just learn them and become comfortable with
them, when they do occasionally pop up, you will be prepared to deal with
them.
