I know the feeling with that one... a member of my section (a freshman, no
less) somehow happens to play on an R13 made somewhere in the 70's... for
reference, he isn't exactly an outstanding player, lack of tone quality,
etc... but, he treats his horn like it were a $50 plastic piece of junk...
I cringe every time i see him playing it at our football and basketball
games, seeing the bottom grind against the bleachers... and one time we
were playing for a water polo game and he dropped it on the
concrete... only his mouthpiece was broken, but i'm sure there's a large
mark somewhere on his horn... it's too bad really, for a horn like that to
be treated that way... I would never bring my R13 to pep band... there's a
reason that I keep my student model yamaha handy....
