Well, for one thing...I keep my clarinet warm. The warmer the clarinet
is, the less temperature change there is, and less condensation. If I'm
resting for an extended amount of time, once I've swabbed (I swab quite
often during performances), the clarinet will actually go into my tux
jacket, against my torso, to stay warm. I've found that this lessens the
amount of water I come across...but doesn't completely negate it. I still
keep my black silk swab handy and a pack of OCB.

Speaking of concerts...NMSU Symphonic Winds is hosting trumpeter Timothy
Morrison at the Music Center tonight at 8:00pm. Mr. Morrison was the
principal of the Boston Pops, and in essence, John Williams personal
trumpet player (anything very trumpety written by Williams can generally
be dismissed as 'written with Morrison in mind').

Tonight's performance includes:

Fast Ride on the Short Bus....er, I mean, Short Ride in a Fast Machine,
by John Adams
Suite Francais
by Darius Milhaud (say it right!)
Irish Tune/Shepard's Hey
by the God of Modern Polyphony
When Speaks the Signal Trumpet Tone (featuring Tim Morrison)
by Gillid Davingham...er, David Gillingham
Summon the Heros
by John Williams

Tickets are at the door...$10. (We don't normally charge that much, but
this is our first big name pro artist...and he didn't come cheap.)
