Of course, WE all know this. How do we convince the parents? Maybe by
comparing it to: "Here, take this rusted-out 1953 Hudson with no engine on
blocks in the junk yard. We won't bother to fix it, but when you've
learned to drive it like Richard Petty, we'll buy you a new one."
